If you are managing a facility, the quarterly roof maintenance check is important to protect the warranty on your roofing products. Keep a record of all works done on the roof including details of the tradespeople who attended and the work they undertake.

This is important as trades that follow roofers may:

• use dissimilar metal products or leave swarf on the roof – both of which can lead to premature corrosion.
• create new roof penetrations that may affect the roof performance
• use certain types of timber (for example wood treated with copper chromium arsenic) that are incompatible with Zincalume, Colorbond and Galvanised Steel
• may incorrectly discharge services such as air conditioning units onto roofing materials
